The plasma is cheaper (from a quick Amazon search) and from what I’ve read the plasma has a better picture quality. I can understand at 60 inch range; the LCD’s seem cheaper.

Maybe they intend to mount it on a wall and maybe the room they put it in has allot of ambient light. both LCD and Plasma have different advantages and disadvantages.
At 60 inches the LCD’s are cheaper? I don’t think so…
I personally would take a plasma over an LCD for just about anything 42 inches and up.
Well the TV shows they watch or the games they play may BURN the plasma phosphor ; and they don’t want that now, do they?
Just like you don’t want an LCD…..
